Determining the OS Version of Your Smartphone
This is a very basic set of steps to determine the OS version of your Smartphone. Due to ongoing updates and changes to smartphones and smartphone operating systems, it may be necessary to refer to your phone's user manual and/or contact the phone's manufacturer for the exact procedure to obtain this information. However, there are a few basic steps that will likely be similar for multiple devices.

- To check the iOS version information, touch [Settings] --> [General] --> [About].
NOTE: If you are not able to find the iOS version using these steps, then you may need to refer to the phone's user manual or contact the manufacturer. Alternatively, you may be able to find the necessary steps for your specific phone model by searching the internet. |
- From the home screen, locate Settings. This may be part of your apps. But you can usually access Settings by swiping down from the top, and then tapping the cog wheel typically found at the top right.
- Once in Settings, you'll be looking for something called "About phone" (usually towards the bottom). Tap "About phone".
Note: If you don't find "About phone" here, you may need to check other locations within Settings.
- Once you have located and accessed this section, you are looking for the Android version. If you do not see it, then you may need to access "Software information".
NOTE: At this point you should have located the Android version. If you are unable to find it, then you may need to refer to the phone's user manual or contact the manufacturer. Alternatively, you may be able to find the necessary steps for your specific phone model by searching the internet.
