Description

Learn how to clean the print head of the PIXMA G1230. If a nozzle check pattern hasn't printed correctly (lines missing / streaks / discoloration), some of the print head nozzles may be clogged.

Solution

Clean the print head if lines are missing or if horizontal white streaks are present in the printed nozzle check pattern. Cleaning unclogs the nozzles and restores the print head condition. Cleaning the print head consumes ink, so clean the print head only when necessary.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Press and hold the Stop button and release it when the Alarm lamp flashes once.

The printer starts cleaning the print head.

When the ON lamp flashes and then lights up, the cleaning is complete.

Don't perform any other operations until the printer completes the cleaning of the print head. This takes about 1 minute.

  3. Print a nozzle check pattern to see if any nozzles are still clogged.

If the problem is not resolved after cleaning the print head twice, clean the print head deeply from a Windows PC or Mac.
