What does the Stabilizer Mode switch on my Image Stabilized lens control?

Description

If equiped, the Stabilizer Mode switch allows you to control how Image Stabilization is applied by the lens.

Solution

The Stabilizer Mode switch has two options, Mode 1 and 2.

Mode 1: Corrects vibrations in all diretions. It is mainly effective for shooting still subjects.
Mode 2: Compensates for vertical camera shake during following shots in a a horrizontal direction and compensates for horizontal camera shake during following shots in a vertical direction.
