Description

This article describes what is found on the main screen of IJ Scan Utility Lite.

Solution

You can complete from scanning to saving at one time by simply clicking the corresponding icon.

 The displayed items vary depending on your scanner or printer.

Settings icon Settings...

Displays the Settings dialog in which you can specify the scan/save settings and the response after scanning.

Scanner

Displays the name of the Bonjour service that IJ Scan Utility Lite is currently set to use.

If the name of a Bonjour service that is different from the one you want to use is displayed, select the name of the Bonjour service you want to use.

 To use over the network, Bonjour must be enabled. Enable Bonjour on your scanner or printer.

 If the Bonjour service name does not appear or if you have changed the Bonjour service name, click Refresh icon (Refresh).

Help icon (question mark) (Help)

Opens this guide.

Refresh icon (Refresh)

Detects the scanners or printers that can be used with IJ Scan Utility Lite.

Auto icon Auto

Scans items with simple settings from the platen or ADF (Auto Document Feeder), and then saves them to a computer. The data format for saving will also be set automatically.

Document icon Document

Scans items as documents and saves them to a computer.

Photo icon Photo

Scans items as photos and saves them to a computer.

Custom icon (star) Custom

Scans items with your favorite settings and saves the images to a computer. The item type can be automatically detected.

E-mail icon (envelope) E-mail

You can send scanned images via e-mail.

OCR icon OCR

Scan text in scanned magazines and newspapers and display it in a specified application.

Stitch icon Stitch

Displays the Image Stitch window in which you can scan the left and right halves of an item larger than the platen and combine the scanned images back into one image.

Driver icon Driver

Scan by specifying the output resolution or scan area.
