Answer

Firmware is the set of instructions built into your printer.  These instructions set and control all of the functions that the printer can perform.  Think of firmware as the printer's operating system.

The firmware in your printer was designed so that it can be updated if functions need to be changed or updated.

So that you can add AirPrint functionality to your printer, a firmware update was created and posted in the 'Firmware' section of the 'Drivers & Software' section of our Website.

Please note that to update your printer's firmware, you will need to connect your printer with a standard USB cable to a computer (preferably one on your network) that has the printer driver installed.  After the firmware update has been completed, you can go back to using the printer wirelessly across your network.
