The maximum printable length for roll media is 19.7 yd (18 m).

The maximum printable length for sheet media are:
Top Paper Feed Slot   - 63.0 in. (1,600 mm)
Front Paper Feed Slot - 36.0 in. (914 mm)

Print Area
A margin required by the printer is added with respect to the size of paper loaded in the printer. Except in borderless printing, the actual printing area corresponds to the paper size minus the space for this margin.

Sheets
 

• Printable Area
  Printing from the Top Paper Feed Slot requires a margin of 0.12 in. (3 mm) on top, 0.12 in. (3 mm) or 0.91 in. (23 mm) on bottom, and 0.12 in. (3 mm) on the left and right sides. Some types of paper require a bottom margin of 0.91 in. (23 mm).
  
  Printing from the Frnot Paper Feed Slot requires a margin of 0.12 in. (3 mm) on top, 0.91 in. (23 mm) on bottom, and 0.12 in. (3 mm) on the left and right sides.
  
  
• Recommend Print Area
  A Margin of 0.79 in. (20 mm) on top, 0.91 in. (23 mm) on bottom, and 0.20 in. (5 mm) on left and right sides is required.
  
   
  Choosing a bottom margin of 0.12 in. (3 mm) may distort images by the bottom edge. In this case, select Paper soruce > Manual and specify a bottom margin of 0.91 in. (23 mm).
  
   
  - Printable area: The area that can be printed.
  - Guaranteed Print Area: We recommend printing within this area.
  - To print so that your original matches the print area exactly, use an oversized paper size that includes the required margin.
  - When printing from the Top Paper Feed Slot, you can choose a bottom margin of either 0.12 in. (3 mm) or 0.91 in. (23 mm).
     Specifying Paper Source > Manual in the printer driver leaves a bottom margin of 0.91 in. (23 mm). On the other hand, choosing Manual (3mm margins) in Paper Source sets the bottom margin at 0.12 in. (3 mm), which provides a larger area for printing.
  However, Manual (3 mm margins) is not available with the following paper.
