AVCHD (Advanced Video Code High Definition) is a standard that uses coding technology with a high compression efficiency and enables high-definition videos to be recorded on various media, such as hard disks, DVD discs, and flash memory. HD video is composed of 1,080 horizontal lines more than twice the number of pixels in a standard-definition TV broadcast resulting in eye-catching colors and richly detailed video recordings. Also, sounds are recorded in Dolby Digital formats.

* If videos recorded in the AVCHD standard are copied to DVDs in high-definition quality, playback is possible only on AVCHD-compatible DVD players.
