Where is the serial number located on my LBP240 Series printer?

You can also retrieve the serial from the control panel

LBP246dw
Press  (Status Monitor) then Device Status, then OK. Then press Serial Number and finally OK.

LBP247dw
On the Home Screen, press Status Monitor then Device Information and finally Serial Number.

The serial number is 4 letters followed by 6 numbered.
