Setting up the LBP6030w, LBP6230dw, and LBP7110Cw printers wirelessly (Windows)

This article provides instructions on how to setup the imageCLASS LBP6030w, LBP6230dw, and LBP7110Cw printers to do wireless printingIt is broken down into six parts. 

Part 1  Provides instructions on how to download and install the software. 
Part 2  Follow the procedure below to connect your printer to your computer
Part 3  Setting up the printer wirelessly
Part 4  Provides instructions on how to setup your router using WPS.
Part 5  Provides instructions on how to setup your router if you don't have WPS.
Part 6  Provides instructions on how to install the printer driver.

Solution

Note:  The below illustrations are for the LBP6030w and LBP7110Cw.   Please substitute your model number where appropriate.

Part 1:  Downloading and Installing the Computer Software


1. Visit http://consumer.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer

2. Type your model name into the search box and select it from the list that appears. 


3. Click the [GO] button to get to the Drivers & Downloads page for your model.

4. From the Drivers & Downloads Tab, Select your Operating System and Version from the provided drop-down menu.



 5. The most common driver to use will be listed in the Recommended Section.  Click [SELECT] next to the driver you need as shown in the illustration above and then click [DOWNLOAD].



6. Click [Yes] to agree to the Software License.



7.  Click [Save] to begin downloading the printer driver software. 



Downloaded files are saved in the specified folder, normally the Download Folder, in a self-extracting format (.exe format).

8.  If the following screen is still open click [Close].



9.  Click [Open Folder].


10.  Double-click the files to decompress them.  A new folder will be created in the same folder. The new folder will have the same name as the compressed file.




11.  Open the folder and then open the Network_Setting_Tool folder.




12.  Click on CNAN1STK to open the Canon MF/LBP Network Setup Tool.



Part 2:  Follow the procedure below to connect your printer to your computer (Must be done before configuring wireless)

1. 
If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click [YES] or [CONTINUE].

2.  Choose Install with USB Connection, then press NEXT
 

 
3.  You will see the below message, press YES to continue
 
             
 

4.  When the screen below appears, make sure the printer is on and the USB cable is connected to the computer and printer

5.  If you see this message, click RETRY



6.  When you see this message, the driver installation is complete. Press Exit


 
 
Now that the print driver is installed, you can setup the printer wirelessly by following the steps below.

Part 3:  Setting up the printer wirelessly

 

1.  Click on CNAN1STK to open the Canon MF/LBP Network Setup Tool.



2.  Select the [Wireless LAN Connection] radio button, and then click [NEXT].



3.  Select the [Yes, I want to configure network settings] radio button, and then click [Next].



5.  Select the [Easy Setup] radio button, and then click [Next].



6.  Check to see if your wireless router has a WPS button, and select the appropriate radio button, as shown in the screen below.

If you are not sure which connection method to use, click [Useful Tips] first or select My wireless LAN access point does not have a WPS button or I cannot find the button.




Part 4:  WPS Router Instructions

1.  If your router has a WPS button, select [My wireless LAN access point has a WPS button], and then click [Next].

If your router does not have a WPS button, follow the instructions below on Non-WPS Supporting Router Instructions.




2.  Follow the instructions on the screen, as shown below, and then click [Next].





3.  When the Wi-Fi indicator turns solid blue, the printer is connected wirelessly. Click [Next].



4.  Click [Exit].



5.  To complete the wireless setup process, proceed to Installing the Print Driver.

Part 5:  Setting Up Non-WPS Supporting Router

1.  If your router does not have a WPS button, select [My wireless LAN access point does not have a WPS button or I cannot find the button], and then click [Next].



2.  Follow the instructions on the screen, as shown below, and then click [Next].




3.   When a list of wireless networks appears, select your wireless network, and then click [Next].



4.  If your computer is already connected to the same wireless network as the printer, you do not have to enter your network key. If your computer is not connected to the same wireless network as the printer, enter the Network Key in the blank field, and then click [Next].

The Wi-Fi indicator on your printer blinks blue until connected.  When the printer is connected to the network, the Wi-Fi indicator turns solid blue.

5.  Disconnect the USB cable from your printer, and then click [Next].



6.  Click [Exit] to exit the Network Setup Tool.



Part 6 Setting Up the Print Driver.

1.  Open the saved folder again and open the UFRII folder.



2.  Open the us_eng folder and then open the x32 or x64 folder depending on your computer system.



3.  Click on [Setup] to start the installation.


4.  Click [Yes] to accept the Software License Agreement.



5.  Select Standard and then click [Next].



6.  Select Add New Printers and click [Next].



7.  Select your printer from the Printer List and click [Next].



8.  Click [Start] to begin the driver installation.



9.  When the installation is complete click [Restart].



10.  Congratulations you should now be able to print.
