Solution

You can scan images and documents to a cloud service such as Google Drive using Canon PRINT.  Follow the steps below to scan images or documents to a cloud service.

 The steps in this article show Google Drive. These steps assume that you have Canon PRINT installed on your mobile device. These steps also assume that your printer is already connected wirelessly to your network. If you don't have this app, you can download it through Google Play. Also, if you don't have your printer connected wirelessly to your network, you can use this app to set your printer up wirelessly. Click here for instructions to set up the printer wirelessly with this app.

 After your printer has been registered, you will need to be sure that the printer is registered with the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center. Follow these steps to register your printer with the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center:

Access the IJ Cloud Printing Center for the First Time
 

If you have never used the IJ Cloud Printing Center with your printer, you can do it without having a Canon ID.

  1. From the main screen of Canon PRINT, tap Cloud.

  2. After a few moments, the Terms of use will appear. Read the Terms, then tap Agree to proceed. Tapping Do not agree will cancel this process.

  3. The Privacy policy will appear. Read this policy, then tap Agree to proceed. Tapping Do not agree will cancel this process.

  4. Select your time zone, then tap Done.

  5. The information registration is complete. Tap OK.

  6. The main screen of the IJ Cloud Printing Center appears.

Register with the IJ Cloud Printing Center (Method 1)
 

 Not all models will use this method for registration with the IJ Cloud Printing Center. If the steps in this method do not work for you, please see method 2 below.

Follow these steps to register your printer with the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center.

  1. From the main screen of Canon PRINT, tap the printer icon.

    Tap the printer icon (outlined in red)

  2. On the Printer Details screen, tap Issue Registration Code.

  3. A registration code will appear. Tap Copy Registration Code, then Close.

  4. Tap  X to return to the main screen of Canon PRINT.
  5. Tap Cloud.

     If you have previously accessed the IJ Cloud Printing Center, skip to step 9.

  6. After a few moments, the Terms of use will appear. Read the Terms, then tap Agree to proceed. Repeat this process for the Privacy policy.

  7. Select your time zone, then tap Done.

  8. The information registration is complete. Tap OK.

  9. Tap the menu   icon, then tap Use with Canon ID.

  10. If you don't have a Canon ID, tap Create new account and follow all on-screen instructions. If you already have a Canon ID, tap Start and follow on-screen instructions to sign in.

  11. Tap the gear icon, then tap Mng. printer.

  12. Tap Add printer.

  13. Paste the registration code you copied in step 3, then tap OK.

    The printer is then registered. Tap the pencil icon to rename the printer if desired. Otherwise, tap Close.
    You will be returned to the main screen of the IJ Cloud Printing Center.



Register with the IJ Cloud Printing Center (Method 2)
 

Not all printer models supported by the IJ Cloud Printing Center will use the steps listed in Method 1 for registration. If Method 1 does not apply to you, follow these steps to register your printer with the IJ Cloud Printing Center.

  1. Tap Cloud.

  2. When this message appears, tap Yes.

  3. You may see a message indicating that the connection is not private. If you see this, tap Advanced or any similar option that appears.

     If you do not see a screen similar with this, skip to step 5.

  4. Tap Proceed to (printer's IP address) (unsafe).

  5. Enter the printer's password if prompted, then tap OK.

  6. When the IJ Cloud Printing Center setup screen appears, tap Yes.

    The registration ends, and the login screen for Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center appears.
    Log in by following the screen instructions.

Scan to a Cloud Service
 

Follow the steps below to use your mobile device to sign into Google Drive through the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center.

  1. From the main screen of Canon PRINT, tap Cloud.

  2. Tap Google Drive.

  3. Read the message shown and tap Agree to continue. If you tap Disagree, you will return to the main menu of the IJ Cloud Printing Center.

  4. You will come to a login screen.  Enter your Gmail address or phone number. Tap Next to proceed.

    You may also be asked to allow Canon Inkjet Printer to access your Google Account. Tap Allow or the appropriate affirmative response to proceed if necessary.

  5. After you have signed in, tap Scan.

  6. Tap on a folder where you would like to scan something to if desired. Otherwise, tap Next. If you want to create a folder to save your scanned image to, tap the plus sign.

  7. You can select the source for your scans as well as the orientation.

    Set any options as desired and then tap Scan.

  8. When asked to start scanning, tap OK.

    The scanning process will begin.

    Processing

  9. After the scan has been completed, a file will be saved. Tap Scan other images to go back to the main menu of Google Drive.

 At any time when scanning to Google Drive, tap the menu icon   and Exit if you want to leave.

When you tap Exit, you will be prompted to pick from one of two options.

You can stay logged in and exit or you can log out and exit

Keep me logged in will return you to the IJ Cloud Printing Center. However, you will remain logged into Google Drive (or the cloud service you specified).

Log out will sign you out of Google Drive (or the cloud service you specified) and return you to the IJ Cloud Printing Center.
