Using Copy Functions Conveniently

Solution

Enlarging/Reducing Copies

You can enlarge or reduce copies to a desired size. You can enlarge or reduce standard size documents to copy on standard size paper, such as changing the size from Statement to Letter (preset zoom). You can also set a copy ratio (25% to 400%) in 1% increments.

1. Place documents.

2. Switch to the Copy mode screen.

For MF4890dw/MF4880dw/MF4770n
Press [ ] (COPY).

For D560/D530
Press [ ] (COPY/SCAN).

3. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Copy Ratio>, and then press [OK].

4. Specify the copy ratio.

To select a preset copy ratio:
Press Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight the ratio you want, and then press [OK].


To set a copy ratio in 1% increments:
(1) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Custom Ratio>, and then press [OK].

(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to specify the ratio, and then press [OK].
You can also enter the copy ratio using the numeric keys.

5. Load the appropriate paper size in the paper source and register the paper size.

6. Press [ ] or [ ] (Start).

Collating Copies

You can sort copies into sets arranged in page order.
This function is useful when making handouts for meetings.
<OFF>
Printouts of a complete job are grouped. For example, if you are copying three copies of a three-page document, printouts of a complete job are grouped and arranged in this page order: "1, 1, 1", "2, 2, 2", "3, 3, 3."

<ON>
Printouts of a complete job are collated.
For example, if you are copying three copies of a three-page document, printouts of a complete job are grouped and arranged in this page order: "1, 2, 3", "1, 2, 3", "1, 2, 3."

NOTE
Combine functions:
  • You can use collating together with the following functions.
- "2 on 1/4 on 1"

1. Place documents.

2. Switch to the Copy mode screen.

For MF4890dw/MF4880dw/MF4770n
Press [ ] (COPY).

For D560/D530
Press [ ] (COPY/SCAN).

3. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Collate>, and then press [OK].

4. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <On>, and then press [OK].

5. Enter the copy quantity (2 to 99) using numeric keys.
* Press [ ] or [ ] (Clear) to cancel the entered quantity.

6. Press [ ] or [ ] (Start).

When your document is placed on the platen glass:
(1)Set the next document and press [ ] or [ ] (Start).
* Repeat these steps until all documents are scanned.
(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Start Copying>, and then press [OK].

2 on 1/4 on 1

You can reduce multiple documents to copy them onto one sheet.
<2 on 1>
Reduce two-page documents to fit on one sheet of paper.

<4 on 1>
Reduce four-page documents to fit on one sheet of paper.

* Select <Select Layout> to change layout of the copy.
NOTE
Combine functions:
  • You can use 2 on 1/4 on 1 together with the following functions.
- "Collating Copies"
- "Enlarging/Reducing Copies"
* When <2 on 1> or <4 on 1> is selected, copy ratio is automatically set to fit multiple documents on a single
page. To manually adjust the copy ratio, select <2 on 1> or <4 on 1>, and then select <Copy Ratio>.

1. Place documents.

2. Switch to the Copy mode screen.

For MF4890dw/MF4880dw/MF4770n
Press [ ] (COPY).

For D560/D530
Press [ ] (COPY/SCAN).

For MF4890dw/MF4880dw/MF4770n

3. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <N on 1>, and then press [OK].

4. Press Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <2 on 1> or <4 on 1>, and then press [OK].


To specify the layout:
(1) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Select Layout>, and then press [OK].

(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight the layout, and then press [OK].

NOTE
Margins among documents:
  • When you copy in an N on 1 layout, margins are created among the reduced documents.

5. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight the size of the original document, and then press [OK].

6. Press [ ] (Start).

When your document is placed on the platen glass:
(1) Set the next document and press [ ] (Start).
* Repeat these steps until all documents are scanned.
(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Start Copying>, and then press [OK].


For D560/D530
3. Press [ ] (N on 1) until an item that you want to use is lightening.



To specify the layout:
(1) Press [OK].
(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Select Layout>, and then press [OK].

(3) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight the layout, and then press [OK].

(4) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight the scan size of the original document, and then press [OK].
NOTE
Margins among documents:
  • When you copy in an N on 1 layout, margins are created among the reduced documents.

4. Press [ ] (Start).

When your document is placed on the platen glass:
(1) Set the next document and press [ ] (Start).
* Repeat these steps until all documents are scanned.
(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Start Copying>, and then press [OK].

Changing the Default Values

The default values of the copy are the function which is applied when the machine is turned ON, [ ] or [ ] (Reset) is pressed, or returned to the default screen after auto reset is performed. You can change the default values to suit your needs.

1. Press [ ] or [ ] (Menu).

2. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Copy Settings>, and then press [OK].

3. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Change Defaults>, and then press [OK].

4. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight the item, and then press [OK].

5. After you have specified the setting, press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Apply>, and then press [OK].

6. Press [ ] or [ ] (Menu) to close the Menu screen.
