CMS-XML Information about 24P video output from the HV20 and VIXIA HV30 camcorders
In the USA as well as many other countries the Canon HV20 as well as the Canon VIXIA HV30 offer a selectable shooting mode which uses true 24 Frame progressive shooting to give your video a more cinematic look. These frames of video are recorded onto the tape or output via the HDMI, IEEE1394 or composite terminals by adding a " 2 :3 pull-down" to convert the 24 Frames in 30 Frames to be compatible with Televisions and monitors.
CMS-XML Why does the computer show that my 1080i video was recorded at 1440x1080 instead of 1920x1080?
The CMOS sensor used in the HV10, HV20, and VIXIA HV30 are a 1/2.7 inch 2.96 megapixel sensor with true 1920 x 1080 HD sensing capability for 1080i HDV format video. 1080i HDV format video is an industry ratified MPEG 2 video encoding standard with an interlaced resolution of 1440 horizontal anamorphic pixels by 1080 vertical pixels and uses a color sampling rate of 4: 2 :0 with a 25mbps data rate.
CMS-XML A vertical smear appears in the video. Objects seem to be leaning in the video. The video looks stretched or rubbery. Black or dark bands occur in the video during playback.
1. Lower the exposure enough that the brightness of the lights eliminate smearing. 2 . Controlled lighting can eliminate all traces of smear. Problem: Objects seem to be leaning in the video.
