Disconnect data cable and power cord to reset the device

If you've waited until the print, scan or fax (if applicable for your model) job has completed and you are certain there are no more jobs to complete, disconnect the interface (data) cable and power cord to power off the device.

Power the scanner on using the power button or switch (8400F, 8600F, 9900F, 9950F)

When the CanoScan 8400F is powered on, a blue light will illuminate. This light is located on the front of the scanner above the scanner push-buttons between the words "SCAN" and " PDF ".
