Unlock the scanning unit The scanner lock switch is located on the bottom of the scanner. To unlock the scanning unit, move the lock switch towards the unlock mark . To be sure the scanner is successfully unlocked, move the lock switch back and forth, then leave it in the unlocked position.

Placing Items When scanning by specifying the paper size, align an upper corner of the item with the corner at the arrow (alignment mark ) of the platen. Photos that have been cut to various shapes and items smaller than 1.2 inches (3 cm) square cannot be cropped accurately when scanning.
