In the environment that AMD USB Audio Driver Filter is installed in Windows Vista (pre-installed in some commercially available PCs), the printing function is not enabled. Important: When trying to perform printing, the message "Collecting printer status." is displayed in the Status Monitor, then the error message "Print data cannot be sent because of the current printer status" follows.
Sharing the printer and using it on a network If an error occurs when printing a document from a client to a shared printer, an error message is displayed on the client and the server machines. Status messages are only displayed on the client.
Please update your computer to macOS 10.12.1 and install the latest CUPS printer driver for your printer to correct the issue described in this article. If you do not wish to update your OS to 10.12.1, please follow the steps below to print correctly if a "Filter failed" error occurs.
