**Instructions in this article are for setup on a Mac.  If setting up on a Windows PC, click here for instructions

To be able to use the PIXMA TS series printer to print or scan wirelessly on a Mac, the printer must first be connected to the wireless network. Then, applications must be installed on the computer. The instructions /  screenshots  below show the setup program steps when using the Easy wireless connect method to connect to the wireless network.

The setup process consists of 2 parts: 

  1. Starting Easy wireless connect on the printer, and

  2. Downloading and running the setup file to install the software. (download here)

Simple Instructions
 

Start Easy wireless connect on the printer.

Prior to starting setup on the computer, start the Easy wireless connect process on the printer. Then complete the setup on the computer. 
See the procedure below to start the Easy wireless connect.

  1. Press and hold the Wireless connect button on the printer, and then release the button when  Direct icon flashes.

  2. Make sure  Network status icon and the horizontal bars flash.

Download and run the setup file.*

Get the Setup File

Click  Setup icon in the Dock, follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with setup.

* Double-click the downloaded .dmg file if setup icon did not appear.

  1. A helper tool will be installed. Select Next.
    You'll be prompted to enter your computer's password to continue. Enter the password for your computer, then select Install Helper.

  2. Select Start Setup.

  3. Read the network security notice and select Next.
    The installer will acquire information on the latest software available for the printer. This may take several minutes.
  4. Read the license agreement. Select Yes to continue.  If you select No, the installation won't continue.

  5. Select Agree or Do not Agree to the information request.
    If you select Do not agree, a message will appear. Select OK to continue.
    After processing for a few moments, the installer will check the printer's status.

  6. Select Yes to confirm the connection method.
    Your computer's network connection will be temporarily disabled.

  7. ** Depending on your network setup, various screens may appear.  Be sure to select an SSID (network) in the dropdown list running on the 2.4Ghz frequency. If not sure, check with your router's documentation.  After selecting the SSID, enter the password in the next screen.

  8. The connection is completed. Click Next.

     If your printer isn't detected, you may need to temporarily disable any security software, or, if you don't want to do that, you may need to open up ports that the printer uses for network communication. Please refer to the documentation for your security software for information on how to open these ports.

    The IJ Scan Utility will be installed. This may take several minutes.

  9. After processing for a few moments, the Add Printer dialog will appear. Select Add Printer.

  10. When the Add Printer dialog opens, select the Canon TS3500 series listing. Select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint for Use:, then click Add.

  11. Select Next.

  12. Click Next.

  13. The installer will process for a few moments. When this screen appears, click Continue online.



Detailed Instructions
 

Start Easy wireless connect on the printer.

  1. Press and hold the Wireless connect button (A) on the printer, and then release the button when  Direct icon(B) flashes.

  2. Make sure  Network status icon and the horizontal bars (C) flash as shown in the illustration below.

Download and run the setup file.*

Get the Setup File

Click  Setup icon in the Dock, follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with setup.

    After processing for a few moments, the instailer will check the printer's status.

  5. ** Depending on your network setup, the following screens may appear.  Be sure to select an SSID (network) in the dropdown list running on the 2.4Ghz frequency. If not sure, check with your router's documentation.  After selecting the SSID, enter the password in the next screen

  6. The connection is completed. Click Next.

  11. The installer will process for a few moments. When this screen appears, click Continue online.
