If [DOCUMENT READY] does not appear when a document is inserted or [DOC. TOO LONG] appears or if documents do not feed properly, follow this procedure to check the ADF for obstructions. You do not need to turn off the power when clearing document jams. Load a document( s ) in the ADF. Adjust the document guides and continue to use the machine.
The telephone company or PBX system may use long distance calling codes on a phone line as a means to manage long distance calls. This service may extend to a fax phone line and for local phone calls as well. To send a fax using a calling code, it may be necessary to add a pause( s ) before the next string of dialing digits. The above example shows how a calling code is used to dial a long distance fax number. To provide time before the calling code number is dialed and avoid misdialing, a pause should be added.
